Louis Amundson is still considered and thought of as a rookie by many. On the statistical profiles of nba.com they suggest that Amundson is a rookie. I don’t know their qualifications for being a rookie but I assume they have the possibility to get technical. I mean, Greg Oden is still considered a rookie so I assume some nerd at some point thought it would be best to get down to the reeeeaaallly technical details…
I mean, I wonder if there is a rule or a qualification… Amundson played in less than 35 games in his first two seasons and averaged less than 10 minutes a game if I remember correctly… I don’t know how much he was in the d-league but I do know he got the D-League Rookie of the Year in 2006… He was a baller then and is proving it now.
He’s also played 70 of his 97 NBA games this year… Last year he played 16 games and the year before that he played 11 games…
This year, he’s got 70 games under his belt and in the games under Gentry he’s been an absolute baller, despite what his records and stats say…
Louis Amundson has played a significant role for this Phoenix Suns basketball team. If we are talking about some of the best contracts in the NBA, think about this. Well, only the Phoenix Suns fans may understand fully (because they have been the ones to see him play the last 15 games) . Louis Amundson has a contract that includes a team option for the 2009-2010 season. Even better, is that the team option is for a mere $855,000. Grant Hill has been getting a league vet minimum of like 1.8 and we’ve been stuck for around 1 million of that or so… That’s a steal…
For the Phoenix Suns to get Louis Amundson for another year at only $850k a that year is going to be nuts. I guarantee you this… His salary will be at least multiplied by 5 after next year when he has to negotiate an offer with another team. In fact, in another year, I could actually see him developing to make around 6-8 a year. That’s as long as he continues on the path he is on now. I already think he is a defensive aware monster. Earlier this season I thought Louis Amundson was an offensive liability but he has recently taken care of that problem and has upgraded his status to an offensive neutruel. He’ll get what he deserves to get on this Phoenix Suns team.
If his development continues, he’ll be performing offensively like a big man, and he’ll continue performing like a defensive monster in a little man’s body and a defensive monster in a big man’s body… basically, don’t try to dunk on Fabio because although he may be called pretty, probably girls name’s, and made fun of, he’s the one that took a purch from Zach Randolph without falling down. He’s the one that coerced Nene to headbutt him… So while you may make fun of Louis Amundson and call him fabio and try to humiliate him, he’ll humiliate your team with that block he gets against em when he absolutely turns their attempt at a poster into an ESPN highlight.

Good evening…funny guys…Louis Amundson getting what he deserves – that can have all kinds of connotations if it is true that the Suns are starting their rebuilding effort as soon as next season; he may get more than he bargained for.
