I would like to talk about Point Guard John Wall of Word of God Christian Academy in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Aside from being arrested and going to jail, I’ll analyze where John Wall might just end up.
John Wall has been the most patient player through this recruiting process, he hasn’t rushed anything, he wanted to focus on the basketball season and end his recruitment after the season ended. Well, the Season ended on a disappointing note for Wall and Word of God, losing on a buzzer-beater in the championship game. But let’s focus on his recruiting, many look at John Wall and say “Hes the next Derrick Rose” because they play the exact same style, and they both are speedy, unselfish, and athletic. Also, Wall is not a good jump shooter ether, the same thing was said about Derrick Rose at this time of his career. He might not play at Memphis next year, but he will still be in Derrick’s shadow.
John Walls school list:
Baylor
Duke
Kansas
Kentucky
Memphis
Miami
N.C. State
North Carolina
North Carolina just recently joined the race, Roy Williams called John Wall. North Carolina is not officially recruiting him yet, but I think the reason why Williams called is obvious to everyone. “Hey John, It’s Roy Williams, head coach of the North Carolina Tar Heels, I just wanted to remind you that we just won the National Championship, and Ty Lawson might be leaving for the draft.”
John Wall would fit into Roy Williams style of play, the Run, Run, Run style is what Wall would excel in. But I don’t see John Wall going to North Carolina, they haven’t offered him a scholarship and Brian Clifton, who runs D-One, the AAU team that Wall plays for over the Summer said that he has no desire to talk to Roy Williams about John Wall going to North Carolina.
The Schools in bold are the schools hes officially visited. Schools that aren’t in bold are schools that hes unofficially visited.
John Wall has visited:
Baylor
Duke
Kansas
Memphis
Miami
N.C. State
Every player gets 5 official visits, hes taken 4, the school that will win over his last visit will be Kentucky, and here’s why. Before John Calipari took the Kentucky job, Wall had a leader, and Memphis was his leader. He visited Memphis and he fits into the style that Calipari runs. He would flourish in that style of play. Since Calipari made the move to Kentucky, John Wall has added them to the race, and since these college decisions are based on playing styles and getting into the NBA, John Wall should visit Calipari’s new home Kentucky, it’s logic. Not to mention the 7 National Championships and Kentucky being the winningest program in College Basketball history.
John Wall resides in Raleigh, North Carolina. Which is home to the North Carolina State University Wolfpack. Who are struggling in one of colleges basketballs most premier conferences, the ACC. He won’t have to take an official visit there, because he can walk to the school from his house. N.C. State has always been on Walls list. N.C. State head coach Sidney Lowe recruited Wall before anybody else did. They were in the race before all these other schools were. Wall going to a hurt N.C. State program, playing the part as the one heart beat that brings the program back to life would cement his place in N.C. State basketball history. It would add a storybook ending to his time in Raleigh, he would be a Hero in Raleigh. His mother, loves the Wolfpack, shes a big fan, but at the same time she wants him to make the best choice for himself. Her health condition plays another factor in Walls interest for N.C. State. His Mom has been in and out of the hospital, and Wall, cares for his Mother a lot. And since Sidney Lowe was the first coach to find out about him and recruit him. It would make sense for Wall to show loyalty and sign with the Wolfpack.
When I put the pieces together, I can see him going to Kentucky or N.C. State.

i think jon will benefit more at duke he will get a good education will he attends there. And he would thrive in a system that doesnt have a premiere scorer. he would become the face of the duke blue devils in no time, also win instantly and maybe a national title

Word on the Kentucky site is that Wall met with Roy Williams TO-DAY! Nobody knows where the kid is going to wind up but why is he waiting so long to make up his mind? Let’s break it down from another perspective.
John Wall wants to play for a Traditional NCAA Powerhouse. Options:
UNC
Kentucky
Kansas
Duke
John Wall wants to stay close to home because his Mom is sick. Options:
UNC
Duke
NCSU
John Wall wants to play for his favorite Collegiate Basketball team. Option
UNC
John Wall wants to be a starter from day one. Options:
Anybody but UNC………unless………
Ty Lawson declares for the NBA draft, then it’s just Anybody. Then everybody may find out why he has waited so long to make a decision.

John Wall’s losing interest for Kansas. They already signed Elijah Johnson a Point Guard. And Xavier Henry’s interest in Kansas could keep Wall away. You make a very good point. I see what your saying.

But remember Lowe found out about him first. And sometimes that can land you a recruit. Two examples, Carmelo Anthony and Kevin Durant. Both committed to the school that recruited them first. Don’t count out N.C. State.

He’s either staying in Carolina or going to Kentucky imo

John Wall needs to stay at home and come play for Sidney Lowe at N.C. State.
The Pack needs him and he needs the Pack. Believe it or not State is a really competitive team. They lost alot of really close games this past year. They went bucket for bucket with national powerhouses all season. John wall might be all they need to get over the hump.

i think he will go to UNC or Kentucky. He seems interested in kentucky. unless ty lawson stays Wall will be the big point guard for UNC next year and will be a huge asset to the Tarheels who are going to go back-to-back!!!!!

everything i’ve heard is that john’s mother was actually the one that first contacted anyone dealing with the unc situation. then john called roy. roy was not the one that called him. in fact, roy never showed any interest in john due brian clifton, the handler. roy only deals with the kids family and hs coach. obviously, brian clifton is neither one when it comes to john wall. in case you havent noticed, ellington and lawson have yet to declare for the draft, but all signs point towards the nba. with them holding off on their decisions, unc has no scholarship to offer john. if john were really wanting to go anywhere else in the country he would have already made a choice. seeing as how kentucky, memphis, dook and all the rest have laid it all out on the table already, doesnt look too good for them. as soon as unc has that scholarship free up, you can bet that john will be packing his bags for the move to chapel hill. wouldnt it be crazy if only one of ellington and lawson left for the nba? wall and lawson or wall and ellington? watch out!

Im loling at “senecadawg” now because UNC wont win anything, they shouldnt have last year… They got lucky because UCONN and Pitt got beat.. BTW John Wall wants to go to UNC and will end up at UK because Ty Lawson will most likely stay……… Then we will have 3 5 star recruits starting for sure, then Xavier Henry (maybe but unlikely) will come for a SG and we still ahve a chance for Jodie Meeks to come back… I love patterson but we dont need him this year because all of our recruits… Only Non-FIVE STAR recruit is at Small Forward, so nice try you stupid UNC fans but you still suck! You got LUCKY this year
April 20th, 2009 at 2:00 pm
BTW patterson has also declared

Hey TJ…how was the NIT last season?
Talk about being an idiot…UK gets a new coach and a few recruits and suddenly they are the best team in the country after doing diddly-squat in the worst BCS-conference in America.
Nice try.
UNC dominated in the NCAA tournament…luck had nothing to do with it.

t.j
you must be messed up if you think that carolina won out of luck.
that’s one of the best teams you’ll see not only for unc but for ncaa.
yeaa there were teams who had better backcourts and better front courts but no team seemed to have both amazing front court and amazing back courts. they didn’t win out of luck. they won by 12+ points in every game. and now that ty lawson and wayne ellington just announced that they are leaving for the nba, john wall will be right there with the rest of the unc team.
sorry that your hopes and dreams of carolina not being good next year were crushedd
April 24th, 2009 at 7:01 pm
wooow shows how much u kno this isnt football BCS is football
UNC wont do anything nxt year when john wall and eric bledsoe commit Kentucky is gonna kill UNC when they play nxt yr
April 25th, 2009 at 2:59 pm
Does anybody know or think john wall is getting a offer from unc know that ty and ellington are declared for the nba…
April 25th, 2009 at 9:12 pm
I looked at scout and rivals. And they say Wall still has no offer from UNC. If he got a scholarship we would have heard about it by now. So I guess it’s no.
April 27th, 2009 at 6:12 pm
John, assuming that you are a one year college player, which college will invest the most in helping you improve? At which college will you get the greatest chance to showcase your skills? The answer to both questions may be Baylor. Have you wondered why four HS All American girls have signed up to start Baylor this fall? HMMM. There must be something there.

Unc has to have another point guard in order to contend. There is no way that we can win next year with drew II at the helm. I am sure that if we can see the problem, then roy has already come to that conclusion already. The solution to the problem is john wall. Unc needs him more than a lot of people realize.

Don't be dumb steven–the term "BCS" refers to any of the six major conferences (ACC, Big Ten, Big 12, Big East, Pac 10, and SEC), regardless of sport.
As for UK beating UNC this year–I'll believe that when I see it. Kentucky fans have been saying that for the last 5 years–and EVERY year the Cats have walked off the court with an L. UNC leads the all-time head-to head series with Kentucky 21-10. It's really not close at all.
