Rumor is that the Washington Wizards made a trade offer for Manu Ginobili. Could this be the start of the Spurs looking to rebuild for the future? Manu asked by the Argentine press this week whether he thought he could be traded, he said “impossible”. But after hearing a rumor that the Wizards put in a trade offer, Manu’s perception changed.
“Today I believe there is a chance it could happen,” Ginobili said.
Tony Parker doesn’t believe Manu is going anywhere.
“I don’t know why he said that, but I don’t think he’s going nowhere,” Parker said. “Everybody loves him here, and I love playing with him, and I don’t think he’s going anywhere.
“If I was him, I wouldn’t second-guess anything. He’s like God here. Come on, man. He speaks Spanish and everything. He’s not going anywhere.”
Speaking Spanish is great when you’re in a league full of people who speak English. I speak Japanese…But i’m no god, but neither am i a player who comes off the bench and gets the highest scores for the team. Manu is a definite freak show though. His shooting ability is from another planet. Maybe he is god. God to Tony Parker though.
Coach Popovich believes Manu will stay as well.
“But Manu Ginobili is someone I cannot envision trading,” Popovich continued. “He has been such a huge part of our heart and soul; people like that are hard to come by. You don’t even think about trading somebody like that. I can’t imagine a scenario where he would be traded.”
What could the Wizards offer though? There has been no word on what they did offer, so everyone is just guessing. If the Spurs are looking to rebuild, seeing as their last championship was in 2007, the Wizards could offer them the 5th pick. The Spurs could draft another SG.
It’s just all rumors at the moment, we’ll keep you updated if any official word of what the Wizards have offered in the trade comes through.

If Manu Ginobili will be traded off the spurs, they need anew adjustment for the team. Spur needs Manu for his basketball strength training and great skills.

Even if there is no deterrence, just keeping them away from others for a while will certainly cut down on the problems.I tend to place a lot of blame on socioeconomic circumstances (and culture) too, but until we have a better science of psychology, some sort of punishment (or the threat of it) is still neccessary.
