The Eastern Conference just turned into the Wild Wild West. Well, to be fair, it was Gilbert Arenas of the Washington Wizards turning DC into a war zone.
Let me rephrase that.
Gilbert Arenas brought the DC war zone with him in to the Verizon Center Arena.
Apparently there was a verbal dispute at some point between Arenas and Javaris Crittenton. We all know that when it comes to verbal disputes, it's best to escalate whatever problem you have and bring out the firearms.
David Stern and the NBA have been waiting to find out if any law enforcement agencies are going to press any charges before he takes any action but we can all rest easy. Yahoo has reported David Stern is going to take this issue very seriously. Gilbert Arenas is looking at a fraction of his salary taken away from him and a short vacation.
And just in case anybody has any doubt Arenas is on the up and up, he said that his intentions were to keep the weapons away from his three young children. For the record, I'm sure he isn't the only person in America that decided to store weapons at their place of employment during altercations with coworkers. It would have been irresponsible to keep them in a locked safe where a child with dozens of disposable hours and a ridiculous amount of motivation could access them.
It seems that between the baby mama drama and his decision not to mess around combined with the Wizards record and a handful of other things I could throw in there, this may only be the beginning of his spiraling descent.
Man I love the NBA.
