The Knicks have a trade proposal on the table with the Memphis Grizzlies that would see Darko Milicic and Marko Jaric dealt to New York in exchange for Zach Randolph. An executive with knowledge of the trade talks said Friday that Knicks president Donnie Walsh initiated the Randolph-to-Memphis talks with the Grizzlies recently and it's up to Walsh to sign off on the deal. But it appears Walsh has cooled to the idea of trading his player, the executive said. ESPN.com

The Knicks are back at it... as soon as I thought Walsh might do something to clea up the Knicks, hes gonna trade Z Bo for one of the bigget susts in NBA History, and a PG with a hot wife that is way past his Prime?![]()

He wasnt getting any fame in NYC, bro. A Rod, jeter, the Giants, the Jets, the Mets, they get the fame. Nobody cares about the Knicks much past the first few weeks of the season. The only reason Z Bo is a good fit with NY is the good choice of strip clubs. So as long a Memphis has a few good strip clubs, I see this as a fantastic fit for Z BO.Originally Posted by its NBA 231

that's what im intrested in. I think New York will make a big move for a star in 2010. Amare', Lebron, Wade... will all be out there, if they have the big $$$ they could pull one.

if this goes through this proves to me that NY are waiting for the 2010 FA period
Z BO is under contract into 2010, plus the Knicks have only 4 players (including Z BO) under contract going into 2010 that are not still on their rookie contract, and all of them will be making 7+ Million in 2010.Originally Posted by its NBA 231

That's kind of a low offer, I'm surprised that no teams are jumping at getting Z-Bo for a low price. I know he may be bad for chemistry, but at such a low price its a chance i wouldn't mind taking.
"I'm not going to say one guy's more important than the other, but you can probably only do one guy a day" Donnie Walsh of the Knicks.
Basketball doesn't build character. It reveals it.
The best teams have chemistry. They communicate with each other and they sacrifice personal glory for the common goal.
Wow cuz if I were running team I would not take Z-bo unless he had less years on his contract than the shit I was giving up. No matter how much he would improve ur club talent-wise, its just not worth it for everything else that he brings.Originally Posted by deejay-8

I love this trade for Memphis although Z-Bo may not be the best team player, he can really score, and would seriously beef up one of the worst front courts in the league. They really don't give up anything except for overpaid, bad contracts to get a pure scorer, I say go for it if your Memphis.
i was going to call myself the denominator - i am always greater than you
they give up about $9 million in cap space in the summer of 2010, but honestly if they haven't used their capspace by that point then they really don't deserve it anyways.Originally Posted by S-T-A-T-1

If I were the GM of Memphis I would stick with the status quo for this season, and then this upcoming summer I would look to reel in a big free agent. Hmm off the top of my head a guy like Rasheed Wallace might be somebody I would be very interested in. Bring in at least one very good veteran who can help this young core become a playoff team.
I dont see this going through now. I think Walsh is gonna change his mind , but if it did I'm undecided about how I feel about it.
i agree with big_n great trade for Grizzlies
good for grizzlies, they needed a solid big man that can score considering hey traded gasol so good trade.
see smith dunk. see other teams pwned.
yeah,great trade for Grizzlies
I don't know how you can say this is a great trade for the grizz. Are people forgetting what z-bo did in Portland? Seriously he is the last player you want to put on a rebuilding team.
It doesn't look bad when you put there starting 5 on paper.
G-Conley
G-Mayo
F-Gay
F-Z-Bo
C-M.Gasol
Except that z-bo is a huge chemistry killer. I'd much rather take the alternative than the one with z-bo.Originally Posted by K-roc

What about their bench? What about their team chemistry?Originally Posted by K-roc

the simple fact is that they are not gonna be a playoff team this year, so why stick yourself with z-bo's terrible contract, terrible attitude, and abysmal defense. They are far better off just taking their lumps this year, letting the youngsters play lots and learn on the fly, and then signing a big time free agent this summer. The free agent crop of 09' is very good, nearly as good as the one in 10', and if they're willing to throw huge money around I'm sure there will be at least one very good player who will oblige and take it.
This is a young team. Right now they really don't have a good sense of chemistry. As for there bench Walker, Warrick and Buckner. Also like most of there team they have alot of unproven players who look to be good. I'm not saying there going to make the playoffs but they look like a decent team.Originally Posted by teee16

I don't know if they want to spend a whole lot of money on a big time free agent. Because once alot of these guys (Conley, Gasol, Mayo and Gay) get out of there rookie contracts there going to want alot to. So it isn't going to mesh well.Originally Posted by o canada

Well Conley still has 3 more seasons til he is done his rookie deal, and Mayo and Gasol 4 seasons, so I wouldn't worry about that yet, and none of those guys has earned a big extension yet anyways. Gay will probably get a big extension next summer, depending of course on what he does this year, but that still leaves them enough space that they can offer a veteran a 4 year deal for well over $10 million annually. Antoine Walkers $9 million comes off the books after this season, and Darko's $7.5 million comes off the books the next summer, so with those expiring contracts plus the plenty of cap space they already have means they pretty much have to sign somebody in free agency.Originally Posted by K-roc

they could have gotten josh smith if they wern't such a bunch of tight asses. He would have helped them big time.... and fitted in nicely with coach ivaronis system.
