Ariza signs with Rockets

Trevor Ariza has made a verbal commitment to sign with the Houston Rockets, according to sources close to the process.

With at least five teams pursuing Ariza, the Lakers appeared unwilling to pay him more than the $5.6 million mid-level exception.

i love ariza but he won't have the same offensive success with the rockets that he had with the lakers. kobe generated most of his points. who on the rockets besides knee mac and yao can do that? did i mention that bout yao and knee mac are gonna be out for a good chunk of the season? there is a reason the lakers didn't want to sign him for that much. yes he is valuable but he is also expendable.

Ariza has improved a lot in this past season. Many thanks to Kobe as well. Like LeBron, Kobe makes his teammates better. But this could also give Ariza more of a chance to prove himself and to show he's still improving and willing to take on a bigger role on a team.

this is interesting,so many potential young players in houston rockets now,aaron brooks,carl landry and now trevor ariza
