The 2010 NBA Playoffs Are Almost Here

The 2010 NBA Basketball playoffs are almost here and the teams are far from locked into position. There are plenty of battles afoot for playoff positioning and I thought I would use this as a time to reintroduce myself back into the writing world as I will hopefully be covering all the playoffs as they happen and writing about some of the finer points of the competition.

Binary Basketball and the Phoenix Suns are Doing Just Fine

The Phoenix Suns, along with Binary Basketball, have felt a sharp, annoying, painful feeling of late. While each of these particular issues are likely at the opposite end of the spectrum of relation, I feel that both issues are alike in that they share the same resolution.

Phoenix Suns 2009-2010 Season Preview

Phoenix Suns Season Preview

Phoenix Suns LogoFor the Phoenix Suns, it has always been about the run 'n gun style of play and as a result of the decision to keep Gentry, Suns fans should be happy to expect an up-tempo style once again. In their previous season, 2008-2009 the Suns had big man Shaquille O'Neal. They worked around him, though he slowed some of the pace down so Shaq could keep up and they could set up a half court play. It wasn't a rare occurrence to watch Shaq jogging slowly down the court even though he was in better shape than he had been in years. This year, the Big Cactus has gone off to Cleveland to team up with LeBron James in search of a title.

In return the Suns recieved Ben Wallace and Sasha Pavlovic, who the Suns bought out and let go to other teams. Questions again built up for general manager Steve Kerr about what he was doing? Was he trying to rebuild this team? Just make some changes to look as though he's trying to do a good job? Many different answers were given. Last season was the first time the Suns had not made the playoffs in five seasons. Maybe it's time for Steve Kerr to quit. Maybe it's Robert Sarver's time to turn a new leaf?

Stephen Jackson's Conduct is Detrimental to the Human Species

As we all know, or at least many of us know, Stephen Jackson of the Golden State Warriors missed the Indian Wells game yesterday due to "conduct detrimental to the team."  While that is their official reason, many feel that it's because of the temper tantrum he threw after picking up 5 fouls in just 10 minutes of play. Yeah, that's Summer League status is what that is.

Though, Don Nelson didn't want to suspend Jackson. Be it the result of Nelson somehow going through 30 years of employment as a coach and never getting the priviledge to tell somebody to GTFO or perhaps there is a backstory here that we don't know about.

What we do know is that Stephen Jackson signed a 3 year extension with the team less than a year ago.

So here is what I'm interested in.
